History
The village of Mikhailovka, located in the valley of the river Kogylnik, was documented in 1820. It is believed that it was founded by colonists brought by the tsarist government from Orel province. The settlement arose at the site of an abandoned old Tatar winter hut.
By 1875, there were 128 courtyards and 854 inhabitants in the village.
In 1877, the Bendero-Galatian railway was passed through the village. The railway station Skinosa was opened (after the name of a small river flowing nearby).

In the interwar period (1918-1940) under the Romanian administration, the village was called Bakhmutya.
