Consisted of the French maritime service, in 1882 he took part in the expedition of Savornian de Brazza to French Congo . In 1883, he continued independently traveling to an unexplored area from Franceville to Mayumba . In 1890-1892 Mison embarked on a new expedition to West Africa. Having reached Iola on the Binue River, he went south, where he managed to cross the watershed between the Sanaga River and the tributaries of the Shari and Congo and reach the city of Kumassa on the Kadai River. In 1893, Mison took a second trip to the upper reaches of the Binouet River and founded the French trading post in the Muri region, but was withdrawn at the insistence of the British government. He was later a resident in Mayung (Madagascar) and governor of the French colony of Somalia.
