Biography
He graduated from the Tsarskoye Selo Lyceum . He served in various ministries : foreign affairs, justice, internal affairs. From November 16, 1867 to 1870, he was the senior chairman of the Kharkov Court of Justice [1] . He was a senator and member of the State Council . Cavalier of the Russian orders .
Islamic law
While occupying diplomatic posts in Persia and being a government official in the Caucasus , he became interested in studying Muslim law , becoming the author of the first scientific works in Russia in this field:
