Biography
In 1763 he was enrolled in the Naval Cadet Corps , studying in which, after production in midshipmen, he made several maritime companies in the Baltic Sea in 1766-1769. After finishing the corps in 1769, with the rank of midshipman, he was sent to the Don Flotilla and took part in the Russian-Turkish war . December 31, 1772 promoted to lieutenant . In 1775 he was transferred to Kronstadt and in 1776 he was appointed commander of the kick “St. Eustathius. " In the years 1776-1784 he repeatedly sailed to the Mediterranean Sea . April 29, 1780 promoted to lieutenant commander . November 26, 1784 was awarded the Order of St. George IV degree . In 1785 he commanded the frigate "Glory", and in 1786 - 1787 - the 66-gun battleship "Asia". May 1, 1786 promoted to captain of the 2nd rank. In the years 1788-1789 he served as assistant captain of the port of Kronstadt.
During the Russian-Swedish war of 1788-1790, commanding the rank of captain of the first rank (January 1, 1790), the 74-gun ship Yaroslav distinguished himself in the Revel battle , for which he was awarded a gold sword with the inscription "For Courage". He also distinguished himself in the battle of Vyborg .
In 1791 - 1796 he held the position of captain Revelsky, and in 1797 - 1802 - the ports of Kronstadt. September 23, 1798 promoted to major general . On June 29, 1799, “for diligent service,” he was awarded the Order of St. Anne of the II degree , and on November 11, 1800 he was awarded the Order of the Holy Cross of Jerusalem . In 1802 he was appointed chairman of the Moscow Admiralty Office and on November 13 of the same year he was promoted to the rank of lieutenant general .
