Pirish Cabral, Rui

The son of the poet and prose writer António Manuel Piris Cabral (born in 1941 ). Born in the north of Portugal, in a village that only in 1969 became a city. He studied history and archeology at the University of Porto . In his student years he was involved in politics. The first book of poems came out in 1985 . Since 1995, lives in Lisbon , publishes translations from English ( Michael Cunningham and others).

One of the most prominent poets of the 90s. His poems are presented in all anthologies of Portuguese poetry published in the last decade.
