Biography
Born in 1900 .
In 1918 , after graduating from a female gymnasium, she was called up for nurses' courses and served for 2 years in a typhoid hospital.
Education
In 1920 she entered and in 1924 she graduated from the medical faculty of Saratov University .
In 1935, in Ivanovo she defended her thesis “Antigenic properties of subcutaneously injected protein during the first and second immunization”.
In 1942, in Chelyabinsk she defended her doctoral dissertation "Forensic medical examination of the accused." In 1943 she was approved to the degree of Doctor of Medical Sciences; in 1945 she was awarded the academic title of professor.
Activities
After graduation, she was appointed as a laboratory assistant, and then as an assistant to the Department of Forensic Medicine and at the same time as a forensic expert in the district forensic laboratory for toxicology and material evidence research techniques.
From 1926 to 1931 she worked as a junior assistant of the department under the leadership of the largest scientific forensic scientist - Honored Scientist Professor of Forensic Medicine M. I. Raysky.
In 1931, Agnessa Mikhailovna took part in the organization of the Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise in the Ivanovo Region and was first deputy director, and since 1933 - director of this institute.
In 1937 A.M. Hamburg was approved by the head of the Department of Forensic Medicine at the 2nd Kiev Medical Institute . At the same time, she was the Deputy Chief Forensic Expert of the Ministry of Health of the Ukrainian SSR. In 1938, she organized the Department of Forensic Medicine at the Kiev Institute for Advanced Medical Studies, which she was in charge of until the end of her professional career.
From 1942 to 1944 she worked in Chelyabinsk along with the evacuated Kiev Medical Institute. [one]
Agnessa Mikhailovna Hamburg was the chairman of the board of the Kiev branch of the scientific society of forensic doctors and criminologists since its founding (1949) and the deputy chairman of the board of the Ukrainian society; member of the editorial board of the journal Forensic Medical Examination. She was the initiator of the publication and executive editor of a number of collections of scientific papers, the organizer of many scientific congresses and meetings in Ukraine.
She died in 1970.

She was married to Yuri Sergeyevich Sapozhnikov (1897-1970), forensic doctor, historian of forensic medicine, professor.
