The Urzhum diocese is the diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church within the administrative borders of Afanasyevsky , Belokholunitsky , Bogorodsky , Verkhnekamsky , Vyatka Polyansky , Zuevsky , Kilmezsky , Lebyazhsky , Malmyzhsky , Nagorsky , Nemsky , Nolinsky , Omutninsky , Kunsky , Ulynsky , Umunsky , Umny , Umny , Umny , Uminsky , Sunsky , It is part of the Vyatka Metropolis [1] .

History
His Holiness Patriarch Tikhon and the Holy Synod, by decree No. 3716 of December 2/15, 1919, established the Urzhum Vicariate of the Vyatka Diocese . By the same decree, Archimandrite Victor (Ostrovidov) , viceroy of the Holy Trinity Alexander Nevsky Lavra, was appointed bishop of Urzhumsky [2] .
The last administrator of the Urzhum Vicarate was Bishop George (Anisimov) , who temporarily managed this department apparently before his transfer to the Vologda diocese on September 13, 1937 [3] .
The independent Urzhum diocese was established on October 4, 2012 by a decision of the Holy Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church by separation from the Vyatka diocese with the inclusion of the newly formed Vyatka Metropolis [1] .
In the diocese, as noted by Bishop Leonid (Tolmachev) in March 2016, “there are many churches that are dilapidated in the villages. Therefore, the main difficulties are the restoration of temples, which are monuments of architecture of federal or regional significance ” [4] .
