Biography
The illegitimate daughter of a merchant and serf. She was brought up in a landlord family.
In the 1830s studied with V. A. Tropinin in the Moscow public art class ((later the Moscow School of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture ).
Since 1838, married to the master of mathematics N.I. Astrakov (1809-1842). Through her husband, she met A.I. Herzen , N.P. Ogaryov , T.N. Granovsky , M.S. Shchepkin , and E.F. Korsh . About them and the social atmosphere of that time left memories. She corresponded with the emigrated Herzen [1] .
In the Moscow Gazette, her memories of Tropinin were printed.
After the death of her husband, she lived 50 years in need and loneliness.
Creativity
She published under the pseudonym Belevskaya in “Moskvityanin” and “Sovremennik” several stories in the spirit of a “natural school”, where she used facts from her childhood and youth: “Pupil” and others. In the “Russian Vedomosti” she published the novels “Painter” and “Poor Musician” " [2] .
