Portarlington Holt is a railway station opened June 26, 1847 ^[1] and provides transport communications to the village of Portarlington in County Leash , Republic of Ireland , located abroad. It is a junction station from Dublin to Cork , Limerick , Galway , Ballina and Westport . The branch to Athlone is located at the western end of the station. Until 2005, the station was three-track, but the middle track was removed when expanding the platforms to ensure the possibility of accepting intercity trains of class Mk 4.
