The title of honorary Aryan was bestowed on the mufti of Jerusalem, Amin al-Husseini, for his close cooperation with the Third Reich.
Japanese
The title of honorary Aryans was also awarded to citizens of allied Japan after the conclusion of the Anti-Comintern Pact. As a result, Japanese citizens living in the Third Reich (there were about 10,000 of them) received privileges greater than any other foreigners. No reprisals touched them. Despite the fact that Japan itself refused to impose anti-Jewish laws, the German propaganda department prohibited the German media from publishing any articles on racial purity, if they could concern Japan.
Finns
A similar situation happened with the Finns. After Finland entered World War II on the German side, German ideologues included Finns in the list of “Nordic peoples” with all the resulting privileges.
Jewish woman
On July 2, 1938, Sophie (wife of composer Franz Lehar ) was granted (by the patronage of either Albert Goering , or Goebbels) the status of “honorary aryan”. [1] The title of honorary Aryan did not relieve Sophie from the obligation to regularly report to the police and describe her property as Jewish. Once the Gestapo tried to arrest her, and Lehar had to save his wife with the help of a local gauleiter [2] .
