The series starred Jenna Elfman and Thomas Gibson , who performed the roles of Dharma and Greg Montgomery, a couple who got married after the first date, despite being completely opposites of each other. The series was created by Dotty Dartland with the participation of Chuck Lorre as a co-producer and filmed 20th Century Fox Television.

The series was a success in television ratings, especially the first three seasons ^[1] . The series was launched as part of the 1997–98 season, one of the most failures in the history of American television ^[2] . Only “Dharma and Greg” and “ Ellie Macbil ”, launched in that year, existed for more than three seasons. The series was also a success among critics, especially thanks to the performer Jenna Elfman, who won the Golden Globe award for her game for the best female role in a television series - a comedy or a musical in 1999. In total, the project was nominated six times for the Emmy competition and was nominated eight times for the Golden Globe , including twice in the category for the best television series - comedy or musical ^[3] .
