Biography

At the front of the Great Patriotic War - from the first to the last days (started as a junior lieutenant of state security ), at the beginning of the war he left the encirclement five times, leading armed units of the Soviet troops.

During the battle for Berlin , he was the head of the Smersh counterintelligence department of the 79th corps of the 1st Belorussian Front, which had set the Victory Banner over the Reichstag . Supervised in the imperial office and the Fuhrer bunker search for the corpses of Hitler and Goebbels . Personally interrogated after the arrest of General ROA Vlasov .

On the Eastern Front of the war with Japan, he headed the Smersh Department of the Trans-Baikal Front, engaged in the search for those in the service of the Japanese Vlasyevsky , Baksheyev , Rodzaevsky , Lyushkov , and interrogated the ataman Semenov .

After the war, he served in the Far East, in China and Korea (1945–1949), and headed the special divisions of the Baltic Fleet (1949–1956) [2] , Prikarpatsky (1956–1965) and Odessa (1965–1970) military districts.

He supervised the security of the Soviet delegation consisting of Khrushchev , Bulganin , Kurchatov and others during his 1956 visit to the UK on the ships of the Baltic Fleet. Then, while trying to gather intelligence about Soviet warships, the famous British scout diver Crabbe was killed during their stay in the port of Portsmouth. A year later, I. I. Klimenko ensured the safety of the visit of the Soviet government delegation on ships to Denmark.

From 1970 to the day of his death in 1998 - Director of the Odessa plant "Fire Equipment".
