Biography
He graduated from the Agronomy Department of Sarajevo University (diploma of an engineer in agronomy ) and the Faculty of Postgraduate Education in Zagreb .
He began his political career with membership in the Communist Party in his native land. Since September 1989, a member of the CDU . Until 1990, he worked in economic and political positions in Metkovic . Since 1990, he has held a number of party and political posts. From 1990 to 1998, he was a member of the Central Committee, and in some cases the Presidium of the CDU. He was Minister of Defense from July 31 to September 18, 1991 . Acted as commander of the Croatian National Guard. Until 1992 - Chairman of the Council of Communities of the Croatian Parliament. From 1991 to 1998 - member of the Supreme State Council. In 1992-1996 - Chairman of the National Security Council of the Croatian Parliament. In 1996 - Head of the Department of National Security. From 1996 to 1998 - Advisor to the President on National Security. Six times in a row was elected to the Croatian Parliament. In the fifth convocation (2003-2008), he served as deputy chairman of the parliament, and since 2003 he has been the head of the CDU parliamentary faction .
On January 11, 2008, at the first plenary meeting of the sixth convocation of the Croatian parliament, Bebić was elected Chairman, instead of Vladimir Sheks .
Luca Bebic has the military rank of Major General Reserve. Passively speaks Italian and Russian.
Married, father of two children. He is fond of growing olives and hybrids of tangerines and oranges , as well as fishing.
