Uralmash is a Soviet and Russian sports club affiliated with the Ural Heavy Machinery Plant (UZTM) from Yekaterinburg . It was created in 1960 on the basis of the Avangard, Zenit, and Trud teams that participated in all-Union and republican competitions from the second half of the 1940s. [1] For some time, the men's team was called Uralmashzavod. The successor to the men's basketball club was SKA-Ural, then Evraz , now Ural . Since 2000, the Uralmash Women's Club began performing under the name Uralmash-UMMC, and a year later, having lost contact with the Ural Heavy Engineering Plant, it gained its current name UMMC .

History
In 1938, it was decided to create a women's basketball team at the Ural Heavy Engineering Plant . The team received the name "Zenith". In 1958, Zenit teamed up with Vanguard, another team in the sports society of the plant, and the result was the Trud team. For most of its history, from 1960 to 2000 , the club was called Uralmash.
Men's Team
The best achievement of the men's team - 7th place (1957). The men's team is a 20-time champion of the RSFSR (1950, 1952, 1953, 1955, 1957-1962, 1964−1970, 1972, 1973), a 3-time winner of the Spartakiad of the Peoples of the RSFSR (1956, 1959, 1967). Eight seasons played in the major league of the USSR championships, took 9th place in 1962 and 66, 10th in 1975; subsequently left the major league. Winner of the Spartakiad of the Peoples of the RSFSR (under the flag of the Sverdlovsk region).
In 1984, Uralmash was transferred to the physical education team of the Verkh-Isetsky Zavod and played for one season in the USSR championship under the name White Sable. In 1985-1989, the team defended the colors of the Ural Military District under the name SKA. In 1989-1995 she represented the Ural Polytechnic Institute . Since 1995, she played in the super league of the Russian championship under the name SKA-Ural. From 2001-2005, the club changed its name to EurAs. From 2002 to 2004 the club played in the major league of the championship of Russia, the highest achievement is 5th place ( 2003 ). In 2006, another men's basketball club was created in Yekaterinburg, which was not connected in any way with Evraz - BC Ural [2] .

Women's team 10-time champion of the RSFSR (1948, 1957, 1958, 1962, 1965, 1966, 1968, 1970, 1973, 1987). 2-time winner of the Spartakiad of the Peoples of the RSFSR (1967, 1971). Since 1964, the team played in the major league of the USSR Basketball Championship (1958-1981, 1984-1992). 2-time bronze medalist (1973, 1974). Since 1993, played in the super league of the championship of Russia. Silver (1997, 1999) and bronze (1996, 1998) medalist. In the 1990-2000s, the women's team Uralmash (Yekaterinburg) was one of the strongest in Russia.
The most successful basketball player of the team for this period was Olga Korosteleva , who became a two-time Olympic champion.
