Biography
Rita Tushingham was born in Liverpool in the family of a fruit seller [1] . She began acting practice at the Liverpool Playhouse. In 1962, she married photographer Terry Bicknell, from whom she had two daughters: Dodonna and Aisha. In 1981, she remarried to Iraqi director Osamu Rami, with whom she lived eight years in Canada . Currently lives with German writer Hans-Heirik Ziemann.
In April 2005, at the age of 33, the daughter of Rita Aisha was diagnosed with breast cancer , but she survived the disease and subsequently gave birth to a son. In this regard, Rita became an activist of the movement against breast cancer [2] .
In July 2009, Tushingham received an honorary scholarship from the University of Liverpool, John Moores, for "outstanding and stable contribution to art."
