History

The station was built during the construction of the Siberian Railway , namely the construction of the second stage of one of its seven sections - the Trans-Baikal Railway, the construction of which was begun in 1895 [5] [6] .

The station was opened in 1900 on the Petrovsky Zavod - Karymskaya section. The first train arrived in Chita from the east on December 22, 1899 [7] .

Also, as in Chelyabinsk and the Ob (Novonikolaevsk I-Passenger) , near the station there is a medical and nutritional resettlement center of the Resettlement Department , in which assistance is provided to the migrants who will go further to the Far East [5] .

In 1973, during the electrification of the Chita - Karymskaya section, the station was electrified with an alternating current of 25 kV.
