It is located 36 km in a straight line to the southeast of the city of Torzhok ; the regular bus Torzhok — Lipiga runs 55 km. It is located on the Danube Creek, near the Shostka River.
According to the 2002 census, the population is 52 people, 23 men, 29 women.
History
In 1859, in the treasury village of Lipiga, Staritsky Uyezd, 49 yards, 348 residents [1] . In 1886, in the village of Lipigi, Staritsky Uyezd, Tredubsky Volost, Annensky Parish - 71 yards, 490 inhabitants [2] . At the beginning of the 20th century, in Lipiga there was a volost government, a zemstvo school, and a postal station.
According to the 1920 census, there are 530 inhabitants in the village, in 1921 Lipiga was the center of the village council of the same name in the Staritsky district, and in 1924-1929 - in the Tver district . In 1929-1956, the village was the center of the village council of the Emelyanovsk district (since 1935, the Kalinin region ), in 1956-1963 - the Vysokovsky district .
During World War II, the village was occupied in October 1941, liberated in December of that year. At the fronts (1941-1945) 35 natives of the village were killed [3] .
In 1997 - 37 households, 79 residents. Branch of the collective farm "Banner".
