In men, the gold medal was won by the representative of Czechoslovakia, Joseph Sabowczyk . The women again won the representative of the GDR Katarina Witt . Among the couples, representatives of the USSR Elena Valova and Oleg Vasiliev won again, in dancing the European champions were representatives of the USSR Natalya Bestemyanova and Andrei Bukin .
