Biography
He received a law degree, defended his thesis on the writer Gabriele Miro for a doctorate in information (faculty of Spanish philology) of the Complutes University of Madrid with the highest score. He received a diploma from the Spanish Higher Research Council ( Spanish Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas ; CSIC) in the field of genealogy , heraldry and pedigrees. Corresponding Member of the North American (headquartered in New York ) and the Guatemalan Academy of Spanish, as well as the Mexican Society of Geography and Statistics.
He is married to the poetess Lusmaria Jimenez Faro ( Spanish: Luzmaría Jiménez Faro ), the couple live in Madrid.
Literary Activity
His first book of poetry was published in 1978 in Madrid . He published 16 poetry collections, some of them came out with introductory articles by famous poets and critics, such as José Hierro , Leopoldo de Luis ( isp. Leopoldo de Luis ), Florencio Martinez Ruiz ( isp. Florencio Martínez Ruiz ), Salvadore David Escobar Galindo ( isp. David Escobar Galindo ) and others. Published two anthologies of his poetry. The poems of Porpett are included in the anthologies of Spanish poetry, articles about him are written in literary dictionaries and encyclopedias. His poetry was translated into foreign languages.
Author of an essay about the life and work of Caroline Coronado ; 1983 ) and three essays about Gabriele Miro ( 1996 , 2004 , 2008 ), as well as “Stories of the Association of Spanish Writers and Artists” ( Historia de Asociación de Escritores y Artistas Españoles ; 1986 ). Awards and rewards
Since 1984, Porpetta has devoted much of her public activities to speeches at universities and cultural institutions in various countries as a lecturer, poet of poetry, head of seminars for beginning poets, and popularizer of Spanish literature. In this capacity, he deserved international recognition. Thus, in 1999 he received the “Golden Key” from the city of Smederevo for distributing his poetry in Serbia ; A badge of honor from the Manhattan office for long academic and literary work with the Spanish-speaking community of New York (Teachers College / Columbia University ) in 2003 and other awards from Spanish scientific communities in the United States ; honorary diploma from the Foundation of Poets of El Salvador ( 2005 ), certificate of honor from the Puerto Rican Writers Association (New York, 2000 ).
Among other awards, Antonio Porpetta is the Laureate of the Royal Academy of Spanish Prize of the Royal Spanish Academy of Sciences ( 1987 ), the Jose Hierro Prize ( 1996 ), the Poetic Prize of the City of Valencia ( 1999 ) and the Essay Prize in Spanish from the City of Valencia (2003 ), and also an award for an essay from the Valencia literary criticism (1996) and from it - for poetry (2001). In 1987 he was awarded the silver medal of the Association of Spanish Writers and Artists.
In 1992 , by the unanimous decision of the municipal council of his hometown of Elda, the name of Antonio Porpett was given to the local center of education for adults, and in 2010 , also by unanimous decision of the council, the area of the city was named after him.
