The Gorchakovs are the nine clans of the Russian untitled nobility, which are unacceptably confused with the princes Gorchakovs , the Kozel Rurikovich industry.

The oldest of these genera comes from Mikhail Petrovich Gorchakov , granted estates in Meshchera in 1622. His offspring are listed in the VI part of the genealogical books of Moscow [1] and the Tambov province. Of the representatives of this kind, Kalinnik Vladimirovich was the governor in the Kazan campaign of 1544, and Savva Ivanovich - in the Polotsk campaign of 1551. Grigory Petrovich is mentioned as governor in campaigns against the Crimeans in 1556 and 1577 [2]

Emblem Description
The shield, divided diagonally to the lower left corner by the Red Stripe into two fields, blue and gold, depicts a single-headed eagle in gold on the head of the Crown with outstretched Wings, having a long golden Cross in the right Paw, and in the left Power.
The shield is crowned with a noble helmet and crown. Crest : three ostrich feathers. The mark on the shield on the right side is gold, enclosed in blue, and on the left, silver, enclosed in red. The coat of arms of the Gorchakov family is included in Part 4 of the General Tombstone of the noble families of the All-Russian Empire, p. 85 .
