The oldest of them dates back to the middle of the XVI century and was included in Part I of the genealogical book of the Vitebsk province .

Alexei Grigoryevich Ershov , after taking Kazan (1552), was sent to different areas of the conquered Kazan kingdom, to swear residents to the Russian Tsar, with the army on the Volga, pacified the Cossack robberies (1557), was with the Tsar during the Polotsk campaign (1563), signed under the sentence of the Zemstvo Duma on the war with Poland (July 2, 1566). His son Ivan Alekseevich participated in the siege and capture of Kazan in the rank of Streletsky head , and also signed with the above-mentioned verdict of the Zemstvo duma.

Gavriil Matveyevich , a nobleman of Toropetsky, killed during the siege of Smolensk, in 1634. Under the same siege, Nikita Fedorovich , a nobleman of Yaroslavl, was wounded and died of a wound. Three Ershovyh owned populated estates in 1699.

Famous Representatives

Vasily Semenovich (1672–?) - Russian statesman, second governor of Moscow province.

Zakhar Ivanovich , second major, from marriage with Ekaterina Vasilyevna Khrushchova, had a son, Ivan Zakharovich (1777-1852) - a Russian general. He was married to Evdokia Semenovna Zhegulina; left two sons:

  • the eldest, Ivan Ivanovich (1806–1864), a retired colonel, was married to Princess Varvara Sergeevna Vyazemskaya ; had two sons:
    • Vladimir Ivanovich (1844-1899) - Russian general, Orenburg governor and ataman of the Orenburg Cossack army
    • Sergey Ivanovich (1856–1869)
  • Nikolai Ivanovich , married to Elizabeth Mikhalkova (died 1896).
