Biography
He graduated from the Faculty of Civil Engineering (1991) and the Faculty of Political Sciences (1993) at the University of Zagreb .
From 1994 to 2000, he worked at the Croatian Ministry of Foreign Affairs , and for some time was head of the office of the then Deputy Minister Ivo Sanader .
In the Croatian parliamentary elections in 2003, he was elected to the Croatian parliament . He was Chairman of the Committee for Economics, Development and Recovery, Chairman of the Foreign Policy Committee and head of the delegation of the Croatian Parliament to the United Parliamentary Committee Croatian Sabor - European Parliament .
In the parliamentary elections in 2007, he was elected deputy in the second constituency. On January 12, 2008 he was appointed Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration (the deputy mandate was suspended).
Member of the CDU since 1992 , and since 2004 became a member of the party presidium.
May 5, 2017 became chairman of the Croatian parliament.
Married, has three children. Speaks English fluently and uses Italian passively.
