Sports Biography
As part of the Brazilian national team, Felipe Kitadai began performing in 2008 . The first major success in an athlete's career took place in 2011 at the Pan American Games . In competitions in the category up to 60 kg, the Brazilian judoka won the gold medal.
In 2012, Felipe took part in the Summer Olympic Games in London . Competitions in the category up to 60 kg were held on July 28. The Brazilian, who turned 23 that day, reached the quarterfinals without any problems, where he won the Uzbek athlete Rishod Sobirov . For a long time there was an equal fight, but less than a minute before the end of the match Sobirov made a throw at ippon. Since China lost in the quarter finals, he was able to continue the fight in fights for third place. Interesting Facts
- Immediately after the award ceremony, Felipe broke his medal, dropping it in his soul. The Brazilian Olympic Committee has asked the IOC to replace a broken medal. The organizers of the competition went to meet the athlete and allocated a new award from the reserve fund [1] .
