Northern administrative district - a territorial formation in the Sverdlovsk region , which is not an administrative-territorial unit, but has a territorial executive body of state power in the form of an administrative district administration. [2] The center of the district is the city of Krasnoturinsk .
The district was founded in 1997 . The area of the district is 79 561.4 km². The population is 468,797 people (for 2018 ). The manager of the district administration is Evgeny Yuryevich Prein.
The administration of the administrative district is a territorial interbranch executive body of state power of the Sverdlovsk region, participating in the development of measures to ensure integrated socio-economic development of the Sverdlovsk region, coordination of the activities of territorial branch executive bodies of state power of the Sverdlovsk region, analysis and forecast of socio-economic development of the Sverdlovsk region in the territories one or more administrative territories flax units of the Sverdlovsk region. [2]

According to the Regional Law of December 24, 1996 N 58-OZ “On the Executive Bodies of State Power of the Sverdlovsk Region”, the administration of the Northern Administrative District of the Sverdlovsk Region is located in the city of Krasnoturinsk and operates in the territories of the following administrative-territorial units of the Sverdlovsk Region: 4 districts , 8 cities ( cities of regional significance ) and 1 closed administrative-territorial entity . [2]

History
Apparently, on a number of maps it is erroneously (or in accordance with old data) that Kushva and Upper Tura are also part of this district, however, they are part of the Gornozavod administrative district [5] .
On October 1, 2017, the Regional Law of June 23, 1997 No. 38-OZ “On the Northern Administrative District” [6] ceased to be in force [7] , and the administration of the administrative district began to act in accordance with the Law of the Sverdlovsk Region “On the Executive Bodies of State Power of the Sverdlovsk Region”, in particular, Chapter III. Territorial executive bodies of state power of the Sverdlovsk region . [2]
