Snohomish River is a river in the northwest of central Washington , USA . Formed at the confluence of the Skycomish and Snowkouoni rivers near the city of Monroe. It flows mainly in a northwest direction and flows into Port Gardner Bay (part of Puget Sound Bay ) near the city of Everett . The largest tributary is Pilchak , flowing from the north and flowing into the river in the town of Snohomish. The river basin includes the western slopes of the Cascade Mountains from the Snowkuoni Pass to the area north of the Stevens Pass.
