In the village Ushkonyr spent his childhood Nursultan Abishevich Nazarbayev - ex-president of the Republic of Kazakhstan [3] .
History
Prigornoye village was founded in 1910. In 1913 there were 146 courtyards, there was a prayer house. The village was part of the Ostashkov volost Vernensky plot Vernensky county Semirechensk region [4] .
Population
In 1999, the population of the village was 10,013 people (4,769 men and 5,244 women) [5] . According to the 2009 census , there were 13,616 people living in the village (6,706 men and 6,910 women) [5] .
