Slip- ons ( English Slip-on ) - lightweight shoes without lacing. They consist of the upper part - canvas and rubber soles. Slipon was created by Paul Van Doren, founder of Vans . Slip-ons were created in 1977 as lightweight sports shoes for surfing . The most popular slip-ons began to be used in 1982 , after the release of the movie " Quick Changes at the Ridgemont High School " in which the main character, surfer Spiccoli (performed by actor Sean Penn ), used only slip-on shoes as shoes.
In Russia, since the 1990s, it has been popular, and not only among young people, shoes, in their style similar to slip-ons, but they called her slippers for walking.
One of the main advantages of slip-ons is the lack of laces. This difference not only makes it easier to put on shoes, but also makes shoes less bulky, and the process of socks - more comfortable.
