Pasites maculatus (lat.) Is a species of Pusites from the tribe Ammobatini of the Apidae family. Europe (Western, Southern and Eastern). Length 7-8 mm. Active from May to August. Kleptoparasites of bees of the genus Nomia , Pseudapis ( Pseudapis diversipes, P. femoralis, P. bispinosa ) and others whose nests lay their eggs. Like other cuckoo bees do not have devices for pollination and collecting pollen (no baskets on legs, modified hairs on the body, etc.). The mandibles are sharp, without denticles. Front wing with 2 radio-medial cells. Antennae of both females and males are 12-segmented. The abdomen is red-brown, the head and chest are black [1] [2] .
