Policy

In the 2012 presidential election, residents of the canton gave 28.4% of the vote in the 1st round, against 27.3% of Francois Hollande and 18.9% of Marin Le Pen , in the 2nd round, Sarkozy won, receiving 51.6% of the vote (2007 1st round: Sarkozy - 31.5%, Segolen Royal - 24.1%; 2nd round: Sarkozy - 55.0%). In the elections to the National Assembly in 2012 in the 2nd constituency of the Somme Department, they supported their fellow countryman, candidate for the New Center party Olivier Jarde, who won 45.1% of the vote in the 1st round and 57.6% in the 2nd round. In the 2010 regional elections, the list of “rightists” won in the 1st round, collecting 34.8% of the vote against 22.8% of the list of socialists.
