Flamm, David

David Flamm ( Polish. Dawid Flamm ; 1793 , Kalisz - November 12, 1876 , Hamburg ) - Polish gynecologist .

Flämm, who had Jewish roots, studied medicine in Berlin and Wroclaw , became a doctor of medicine. He worked as a doctor in Kalisz ( 1818 - 1833 ) and Warsaw ( 1833 - 1862 ). He was the first doctor in the Kingdom of Poland , who gave birth using a caesarean section .

In 1845 adopted the Lutheran faith. In 1862 he left for Hamburg, where he also worked as a doctor. He died there. He was buried in the Lutheran cemetery of Warsaw .
