The Chebsar district is a region that existed as part of the Northern Territory , Northern and Vologda Regions of the USSR .

History
After the abolition of the county-volost government, the territory of the Vologda district moved to the Northern Territory. On July 15, 1929, the Presidium of the All-Russian Central Executive Committee introduced regionalization of the Northern Territory. Chebsar district was formed as part of the Vologda district . In 1931, the Chebsar station became an urban-type settlement.
June 20, 1932 by the decision of the Presidium of the All-Russian Central Executive Committee, the Vologda region of the Northern Territory was abolished. Potobovsky, Pudengsky, Khrenovsky and Yangosorsky village councils and parts of the territory of the Yemsky, Pogorelovsky and Toshninsky village councils, with the establishment of a border along the Yoma River, were assigned to the Chebsar district [1] .
On December 5, 1936, the district became part of the Northern Region .
September 23, 1937 the area became part of the Vologda region . On September 1, 1938, the village councils returned to the Chebsar district in 1932 returned to the Vologda Oblast, restored in the Vologda Oblast.
In 1959, the territory of the Prisheksninsky district was annexed to the Chebsar district .
During the dissolution of the districts on December 13, 1962, the Chebsar district was abolished, and its territory was transferred to the Vologda and Cherepovets districts [2] .
