History
Steam locomotives 9P
The construction of the plant began in 1911 in connection with the construction of the Moscow - Murom railway line. The railway entrepreneur, Chairman of the Moscow-Kazan Railway Board Nikolay Von Meck , in order to reduce the cost of repairing locomotives, decides to transfer large railway workshops located in Moscow near the Kazan station to Murom. For this, the construction of new buildings began in the city. Due to the outbreak of World War I, the transfer of workshops was delayed, and they could only begin work in 1916 . However, already in 1917, the factory immediately repairs 128 steam locomotives.
The revolutions that took place in 1917, and then the Civil War, led to a change in the management of the plant. In 1920, the Bolshevik locksmith Vasily Emelyanov organized the country's first shock brigade in the assembly shop. Then, at one of the country's first subbotniks, workers repaired a steam locomotive Ѳ (“Fita”), which in honor of this event was called “A steam locomotive named after the Great May Day holiday”.
In 1926, the workshops were transformed into “ Plant named after F. E. Dzerzhinsky ”, and in 1929 the factory began to publish the newspaper“ The Voice of the Dzerzhinsky ”.
In the years of the first five-year plans, the plant begins to introduce new repair technologies, including the widespread use of electric welding.
In connection with the beginning of World War II , the plant switches to the production of military products. Armored hulls, turrets, chassis parts for tanks and self-propelled guns SU-76M are produced . The plant also manufactured shells for grenades, shells, and mines, and in February 1942 the Ilya Muromets armored train was built. In 1945, the enterprise was awarded the Order of the Red Banner of Labor and transferred to the eternal storage of the Banner of the State Defense Committee.
In all, over the years, 4 heroes of the Soviet Union worked at the plant: N. F. Gastello , V. I. Filatov , A. V. Kukin and S. V. Shilov [1] .
In 1946, the plant received a new name - the Murom steam locomotive building, after which the production of the 9P type 0-3-0 shunting locomotive with a capacity of 300 liters begins on it. with., and since 1955, a slightly modified version of the engine was produced in parallel, which received the designation 9P M. The release continued until 1957 and was completed in connection with the completion of steam locomotive construction in the country. At the same time, 9P became the last steam locomotive of the normal gauge (1524 mm) produced in the country, and in total the Murom Plant built 2736 locomotives of this series.
Instead, the plant switches to the production of the first large-scale shunting diesel locomotive in the USSR - TGM1 , which in its traction parameters was identical to the 9P steam locomotive. The design of this locomotive began back in 1955 under the leadership of the chief designer, A.M. Rusak , and the first locomotive was launched at the end of 1956, and up to 1972, 3368 units were built. In 1962, under the leadership of Filatov, a 500-liter TGM23 diesel locomotive was developed and launched. with. The locomotive turned out to be so successful that its modifications (TGM23D) are produced up to the present, and the total output is close to 9400 units. Since 1992, the plant also produces car trunks . In the same year, the plant was transformed into an open joint-stock company , and in 1995, the Fact television studio was founded on its territory.
