Advent City ( Nor. Advent City ) is an abandoned village located on the eastern side of Adventfjord on the island of Western Svalbard on Svalbard , Norway . From 1904 to 1917, he served as a camp for coal miners working for the Spizbergen Coal and Trading Company Limited ( Sheffield , UK ). One hut was built in the first year, additional buildings followed only in 1905, including a bakery and two streets. All village buildings were moved to Hörthamn in 1916 and 1917 [1] .
