Alexander Iosifovich Yugovich ( 1842 - 1925 ) - Russian engineer; chief engineer of the construction of the Chinese Eastern Railway.

He graduated with honors from the Higher Technical Department of the Royal Academy of London [1] .
He participated in the design and construction of railways Poti - Tiflis ( Surama Pass ), Chisinau - Ungheni - Iasi , Bendero-Galatskoy and Transcaspian railways. He worked in the society of the Ryazan-Ural Railway as the chief engineer for the construction of new lines; under his leadership, built about 2,300 km of railways.
On the personal recommendation of the Minister of Finance S. Yu. Witte, in 1897, he was appointed chief engineer of the Chinese Eastern Railway being built , supervising the construction of the Chinese Eastern and South Manchurian lines; passed the road to permanent operation in 1903. [2] Under his leadership, more than 2500 km of roads were built.
