Pavlo-Ochakovskaya Spit - alluvial sand-shell rock spit , located on the Russian coast of the Azov Sea , in the Taganrog Bay , about 35 km south-west of the city of Azov . Administratively Pavlo-Ochakovsky Spit is part of the Azov district , Rostov region .

Various braid names are used. In the Internet, literature and communication, the most common name is Pavlo-Ochakovskaya Kosa. The name “Ochakov Spit” is used in the cards. The road sign contains the inscription "PAVLOOCHAKOVSKAYA KOSA". Pavlo-Ochakovskaya Spit is a continuation of the cape, which extends into the sea for several kilometers. The shape of the braid is arcuate. Between the spit and the sea there is a small bay-backwater, popular with lovers of kitesurfing. The depths of the sea along the spit (0.5-1.4 meters) make it a convenient place for swimming, wind and kitesurfing. Scythe deep into the sea, on the surface and underwater parts of the spit, vacationers make pleasant walks right into the sea (and vice versa). On the east bank of the Pavlo-Ochakovskaya Spit there is an equipped beach.
On the Internet, it is believed that the Pavlo-Ochakov Spit is one of the world centers of kite surfing .
Tourism
Large beaches, a shallow sandy bottom without hollows and pits, numerous recreation centers and children's health camps attract hundreds of vacationers every season. The swimming season here lasts from May to September (sea temperature is + 18 ... + 25 ° C) [1] . Near the spit passes the Azov - Yeisk highway, near the beaches there are paid parking lots. The largest recreation centers (“Navigator”, “Edem”, “Oasis”) are received simultaneously by dozens of guests, and the recreation center “Azovskoe Vzmorie”, which occupies several buildings, can accommodate up to 280 guests. There are two sandy-shell type beach areas on the spit: the northern and eastern ones, with a set of entertainment traditional for the south of Russia - trampolines, an inflatable slide, jet ski , catamaran and banana rides . The total length of the beaches is about 1 km. The northern beach is smaller and due to the constant wind, the water near it is cloudy, so this place is more popular with windsurfers and kitesurfers than with swimmers. Right on the spit are the bases for training these types of sailing . Pavlo-Ochakovskaya Spit regularly hosts competitions wind- and kraytserferov [2] . In the summer period of 2015, 18,000 people rested on the Pavlo-Ochakovskaya Spit [3] .
