John Campbell Brown ( born John Campbell Brown ; born 1947) is a British astronomer , royal astronomer of Scotland since 1995.

Biography
Until 2010, he led the Glasgow University research group on the theory of modeling solar and stellar plasma , including the diagnosis of high-energy solar radiation using data from spacecraft. For these studies, as well as his great contribution to the promotion of astronomical knowledge, in 2012 he was awarded the gold medal of the Royal Astronomical Society . [1] As a royal astronomer, Scotland regularly gives public lectures on astronomy. [2] [3] He is an honorary professor at the University of Edinburgh and the University of Aberdeen . Member of the Royal Society of Edinburgh since 1984. [four]
