He was the leading yachtsman of Western Australia, speaking on sailboats under the common name Siska. He was the winner of many prestigious competitions. In 1952-1956 became the champion of the country in the class "12 m² Charpy"; in 1957, 1958, 1960, 1962 - in the class "Flying Dutchman". At the Summer Games in Melbourne (1956) won the first Olympic medal for Australia in sailing. In 1958, he became the world champion in the Flying Dutchman class. However, the Summer Olympics in Rome (1960) ended unsuccessfully for an athlete - he took only 18th place.
In 1949 he founded his sailing business, the company Rolly Tasker Sails in Puheta (Thailand). In 2008, he founded the Australian Sailing Museum in Mangera. In 1986, he was inducted into the Hall of Champions of Western Australia. In 2006 he was awarded the Order of Australia for merits in the development of sailing.
