Biography

Representative of the Koltsov-Mosalsky princely family, the eldest son of Prince Mikhail Andreevich Koltsov-Mosalsky .

In 1658 he was granted a lawyer , in 1668 - in the stewards . In 1675 he was appointed the second governor of the Don to be comrades of P.I. Khovansky-Snake for the construction of a fortress on the Mius River, in 1680-81 he became governor in Tomsk , then returned to Moscow.

With his three younger brothers, he participated in both Crimean campaigns under the leadership of Prince V.V. Golitsyn . In 1690, during the Streltsy revolt, he accompanied the 18-year-old Tsar Peter to the Trinity-Sergius Monastery .

During the Second Azov campaign (1696) he was made a fellow governor (deputy) of the governor of the Big Regiment of the boyar A.S. Shein , promoted to lieutenant general . In 1698, under the leadership of Sheina, he participated in pacifying the rebellion of archers near New Jerusalem .

In 1702-1707 he was governor in Belgorod (since 1703 he was officially called the governor ). In 1702, by the highest decree, he founded and built the Kamenny Zaton fortress (now the city of Kamenka-Dneprovskaya ).

He died a full general in 1708 [1] or 1714. [2] .

Family

His three brothers also served the Russian sovereigns:

  • Andrei Mikhailovich - from 1697 he was governor in Sevsk , died in 1703, leaving 4 sons, of whom Dmitry was sentenced to be hanged for stealing the treasury.
  • Fedor Mikhailovich (b. 1652) was a steward and governor in Nizhyn (1703-1708).
  • Boris Mikhailovich - since 1699, regimental governor, died in 1703, leaving no offspring.

His wife, Anna Petrovna, gave birth to her husband three sons and a daughter, Evdokia.

  • Yakov Ivanovich (1666-1728) - from 1722 he was an adviser to the Justits College , then governor in Sevsk . He did not leave offspring.
  • Vasily Ivanovich - was in the second Crimean campaign (1689) and the campaign in the Trinity-Sergius Monastery (1690). He did not leave offspring.
  • Petr Ivanovich (died in 1721).
