The construction is a football stadium, without athletics running tracks. The opening took place on September 12, 1936, PSV was the first rival of the hosts. In 1949, the stadium was already three stands. All four stands were covered with peaks by the end of the 1990s , and the capacity was 10,250 seats.
The stadium infrastructure is out of date. The club plans to build a new stadium in East Leeuwarden, the cost of which is estimated at 35 million euros .
