Biography

Born on August 6, 1950 in the city of Aktyubinsk ( Kazakh SSR ) in the family of a railway worker. Russian Member of the CPSU since 1975. He graduated from 10 classes.

In the Soviet Army since 1967. In 1971 he graduated from the Syzran Higher Military Aviation School of Pilots [1] . He began his service as a navigator pilot of the Mi-8 helicopter in one of the combat units. Soon became a crew commander, squadron commander. In 1980, he graduated from the Yu.A. Gagarin Air Force Academy .

Twice, from 1980 to 1981 and from 1984 to 1985, V. M. Pismenny was part of a limited contingent of Soviet troops in the Democratic Republic of Afghanistan. He made more than 550 sorties.

By a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR dated February 5, 1986, Lt. Col. Pismenny, Vyacheslav Mikhailovich, for the courage, bravery and heroism shown in providing international assistance to the Democratic Republic of Afghanistan, was awarded the title Hero of the Soviet Union with the Order of Lenin and the Gold Star medal (No. 11540).

After returning from Afghanistan, the brave helicopter officer served in the General Staff of the USSR Air Force , and after the collapse of the USSR continued to serve in the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation .

Deputy Commander - Chief of Staff of the Army Aviation of the Ground Forces , Lieutenant General of Aviation V. M. Pismenny died on January 31, 2004. He was buried at the Troekurovsky cemetery in Moscow (plot 5).

Honored Military Pilot of the Russian Federation . He was awarded the Order of Lenin, two Orders of the Red Star, the Order "For Service to the Homeland in the Armed Forces" 3rd degree, medals.
