The Topvar Brewery ( Slovakian. Pivovar Topvar ) is a Slovak company that was part of the Pivovary Topvar, as group of companies, which belonged to the assets of one of the world's largest beer producers, the international corporation SABMiller . From 1964 to 2010, it was directly involved in the production of beer; since March 2010, activity has been limited to administrative and distribution functions.

History

Topvar Brewery was founded in 1957 and was initially engaged in the production of malt, the first batch of its own beer was brewed by the company in May 1964 .

In the late 1980s, the brewery was privatized, and then the international corporation SABMiller acquired control over it. The trademark "Topvar"

Now the Šariš brewery produces two types of Topvar beer:

  • Topvar 12% svetlý ležiak - light lager about with an extract of initial wort of 12% and an alcohol content of 5% by volume, belongs to the style of Czech (Bohemian) Pilsner ;
  • Topvar 10% svetlé výčapné pivo is a light lager with an initial wort extract content of 10% and an ethanol content of 4.1% by volume, belongs to the Czech (Bohemian) Pilsner style. [2]
