When in the same year Cheboksary opened a musical drama theater (since 1993 the Chuvash State Opera and Ballet Theater ), Tamara Ivanovna was one of the first to be invited to his troupe. In 1968, she was awarded the honorary title of People's Artist of the Chuvash Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic, and in 1970 - the Honored Artist of the RSFSR. In 1969, for creating the image of Narspi in the opera of the same name by G. Ya. Hirby, she was awarded the State Prize of the Chuvash ASSR named after K.V. Ivanova.
