Yui (Shuangyashan)

Yui ( Chinese р 友谊 , pinyin : Yǒuyì ) is a county in Shuangyashan City District, Heilongjiang Province ( PRC ). The name of the county means "Friendship", and comes from the name of the state farm created in these places with the help of the USSR during the years of the 1st Chinese Five-Year Plan.

History

At first, these lands were part of Fujin County (富锦 县). In 1946, Jixian County, Hejiang Province, was formed. In May 1949, Hejiang Province was annexed to Songjiang Province. In August 1954, Songjiang Province was merged with Heilongjiang Province, and Jixian County became part of Hejiang County (合 江 地区). In 1960, by the decision of the State Council of the People's Republic of China, Jixian County was disbanded: its western part became part of Shuangyashan, and from the eastern part, where the Druzhba state farm was located, Yui County was formed, which became part of the Hejiang Special Region (合 江 专区). In 1962, Yui County was disbanded, and Jixian County was recreated within its former borders. In 1964, Yui County was recreated, in 1973 it was disbanded again, in 1984 it was recreated again. On January 1, 1985, the Hejiang District was liquidated, and Jiamusi City District was formed in its place . In 1991, Yui County was transferred from Jiamusi City District to Shuangyashan City District.
