Story
The protagonist of the game is the Tasmanian Devil Taz - the cartoon character Looney Tunes . The peaceful life of Taz, who spends his free time on his island with the Devil ( eng. She-Devil ), is disturbed by Yozemite Sam ( eng. Yosemite Sam ), who puts both of them at Yosemite Zoo. Sam’s plans are to turn Tasmania into a huge amusement park. However, Taz, enraged that he was separated from his beloved, escapes from the cage in which he is held, and goes in search of the Devil. Sam, who did not wait for the escape of Taz, orders to hang posters all over the world with the same slogan "Taz: In Search". Tazu has to destroy these posters at any cost, save the Devil and stop Sam's gang.
Gameplay
The pelvis will have to pass ten required levels (four large stages), each of which has exactly seven posters. All these posters must be destroyed at all costs, which is the primary task during the game. Taz has excellent physical skills: it can rotate and move at great speed, destroying everything in its path (as in cartoons), eat some objects and spit them, jump, and also scream loudly and intimidate. However, he does not know how to swim: every time, as soon as he falls into the water, he drowns (although then he gets out to the land and starts everything from the beginning). He is not able to fight, although he can knock someone off while spinning.
For the destruction of each poster, Taz gains points, expressed in dollars (with each successive level, the difficulty increases). At each level are rangers who hunt the pelvis on the orders of Sam. Each time, as soon as Taz falls into their hands, he loses some of the money and falls into the cell (which, however, can be easily destroyed). You can deal with the rangers if you enter the ACME phone booth and purchase a special suit in which Taz attacks the rangers in the company style and destroys them completely. At each level, Taz has the opportunity to receive an additional bonus:
- There are at least 100 sandwiches on the levels. Having collected 100 of them, Taz gets the right to play the bonus game available after completing the level. Access to this game gives a blue phone booth, which is easter eggs - a reference to the TARDIS from the popular TV series " Doctor Who ". The bonus game is presented in three forms: an obstacle course on foot, a race for transport or the destruction of boxes for a while. She also makes money. It is noteworthy that each Taz bonus game takes place in a camouflage suit.
- destroying 50, 75 or 100% of the buildings to be destroyed (depending on the difficulty set at the beginning), Taz gets extra money.
- having found Sam's golden mustache, Taz gets extra money (as much he can earn in the bonus game).
At the end of three levels in the three worlds, Taz plays the supergame against Sam: in the first case, he chases an elephant, trying to intimidate the Gossamer ; in the second case, in a plastic zorb, it competes against Duffy Duck ; in the third case, trying to undermine Sam. At the final stage after the tenth level with posters, he will have to fight with Sam and his company, as well as find out who really is behind the abduction of Taz and the Devil.
Characters
- Taz - Tasmanian devil . The main character. Foolish, eternally hungry predator, but at the same time obsessed with a noble idea to save the beloved and take revenge on the kidnappers. Voiceover: Jim Cummings .
Enemies
- Bears - found on the levels "Melodies of Zuni" (brown) and "Iceberg" (white). Brown bears do not attack Taz if it does not appear in their lair; whites, on seeing the pelvis, may snowball him.
- Crocodiles are creatures that live in the ponds of Zuni Melodies. Attack the pelvis when it is too close to the pond, and flatten it.
- Sharks are creatures that inhabit the seas at the Laguna Luni level. They can swallow the pelvis when it jumps over the water and spit it out in another place.
- Big monkeys - monkeys dressed as pirates, the inhabitants of the "Luni Luni". Slippery banana skins are scattered around them.
- Guard dogs are creatures guarding the premises of the levels of "Luningdale" and "Taz with Ghosts". Dogs "Taza with casts" differ from their relatives skin color and two heads instead of one. Trying to bite a player if he is around. Unlike other enemies, they are extremely difficult to knock down with their rotation.
- The guards are enemies of the Lunningdale and Samson Museum levels. Attack the pelvis with batons. They differ only in the color of the form.
- The builders are obese men in a white T-shirt and hard hat, workers of the level "Sameriki Coast". Attack, falling on the player.
- Robots - mechanical creatures endowed with different abilities, attacking with great frequency. They are found on the levels of the Samson Museum, The Coast of Samerica, and The Cartoon Quarry.
- Cacti throwers are big people in blue with a cowboy hat. Throw in a player spiky cacti from their guns. Appear at the level of "Grandma Canyon".
- Underminers are formidable opponents with a big mustache, wearing a cowboy hat or a miner's helmet. Armed with dynamite, which is thrown in the pelvis when detected. Appear at the levels "Grandma's Canyon" and "Cartoon Quarry". Different clothes.
- Aborigines - the inhabitants of Tazlandia, fat men in huge masks. They can send a cloud of lightning above Taz, which will eventually stun him for a few seconds. Appear at the level of "Tazland Amusement Park".
- Birds of Tazlandia - colorful birds from the "Tazland Amusement Park" level. They are mostly in the air and can be rarely seen. Throw slippery eggs under the player's feet.
- “Hit-boxes” are small boxes with a retractable boxing glove hitting the pelvis when it comes too close. Usually serve as a barrier to the player to move to the next part of the level. They can be turned off for a few seconds with a special knob with a corresponding designation. It should be noted that if the rotator is not activated, it is impossible to destroy the boxes in any way. Appear at all levels (except for levels with bosses).
- The rangers are Sam's employees, dressed in blue uniforms and equipped with nets. The only enemies in the game (except bosses) that pose a real danger to the player. Their task is to catch the pelvis and put him in a cage (though you can easily get out of this cage). Each unsuccessful attempt to get away from the ranger will cost the player $ 500 (at the expert level - 1000). However, unlike other enemies, but like the “Hit-boxes”, they can be “killed”, although this can only be done with the pelvic skin weapon, which is different at each level. Like "hit-boxes", appear at all levels, except the final for each location.
