Vertikos is a village in Kargasok district of the Tomsk region of Russia . The administrative center and the only settlement of Vertikossky rural settlement [2] .

Geography
Vertikos village is located in the north-eastern part of Kargasok district, 106 km from Kargaska .
History
The village was founded in 1926 as a settlement of the Khanty and Selkup . The forest industry developed in the village, later a grooving plant was built. In the 1980s, construction of a gas compressor station and an electrical substation began [3] .

The main nationality is Russians (96.3%), representatives of small peoples of the North also live in the village — Selkups (1.1%), Khanty (0.6%) [11] .
- Gender composition
According to the 2010 census, the population is 611 people, including 306 men and 305 women [12] .
Economy
The main company is a gas compressor station (100 employees). There is a kindergarten for 30 places, a school [13] for 120 students, a post office, a feldsher-midwife station, a library, 2 bakeries, outlets. There are fixed and mobile communications ( MTS , Beeline ), Internet [3] .
