Bugat ( Mong. Bugat ) is a somon of the Govi-Altai aimag in the southwestern part of Mongolia , with an area of 9,921 km² [1] . The population according to 2009 was 2,257. [2]

The center of the somon is the village of Bayangol , located 203 kilometers from the administrative center of the aimag, the city of Altai, and 1,200 kilometers from the country's capital, Ulan Bator [3] .
Content
Geography
Somon is located in the southwestern part of Mongolia on the border with the People's Republic of China . On the territory of Bugat, the Alagkhirkhan Mountain is located at a height of 3738 m and gives rise to the rivers Tsagaan Sayr, Khuh Sayr, Ult, Bag and others. Also in somone are the mountains Ulaan uul (2958 m) and Buga Khairkhan (2939 m).
Of the minerals in somone there are deposits of coal , non-ferrous metals, mica [3] .
Climate
The climate is sharply continental. The average January temperature is -17 degrees, July +25 degrees. Annual rainfall is 80 mm [3] .
Fauna
The fauna of Bugata is represented by wild camels , kulans [3] .
Infrastructure
In somone there is a school, hospital, centers of culture and commerce [3] .
