Sand Fork is a river in the United States , in central West Virginia . A tributary of the Little Canova River , which in turn is a tributary of the Ohio River . It is about 30.1 km in length [2] ; the pool area is 210 km² [3] .

It originates 6.4 km northwest of Roanook in Lewis County and flows west and southwest through the eastern part of Gilmer County. It flows into the Little Canova River north of Sand Fork. About 92.8% of the area of the river basin is occupied by forests, mainly broad-leaved. About 6% are pastures and agricultural land.
