Indonesian rock ( indon. Rock Indo ) - the direction of Indonesian music, which arose, as throughout the world, as a product of cultural globalization . [1] The specificity of Indo - Indian rock music and rock video reflects the original Indonesian ideas about individualism and interdependence, modernism , as well as supernatural . [1] Some Indonesian rock bands perform in the Dangdut style, which emerged as a reaction to the influx of popular American music into the country in the 1960s. [2] In the 1980s, there was a politicization of the Dangdut style, with some rock bands expressing opposition sentiment. [2] One of the largest rock festivals in Indonesia is the Rock Parade in Jakarta , which takes place over 3 days with the participation of more than 100 rock groups. [3]
