Biography
Father - Luis Ruiz de Gopegi, a prominent physicist, aeronautics specialist, program manager at NASA in Spain. She graduated from the Law Faculty of the University of Madrid, worked as a journalist. Her first novel , Map Scale ( 1993 ), was awarded several awards for a promising debut. She also acts as a screenwriter, according to her script Sleeping Fate filmed the eponymous film by Angeles Gonzalez-Sindh ( 2003 ), which won the Goya Award . Member of the Communist Party of Spain .

Recognition
The prose writer and critic Francisco Umbral called her the best in the generation. Gopegi novels were awarded many prizes, translated into English, German, French, Italian and other languages.
