Biography
Ruslan Basiev was born on June 20, 1979 in Ordzhonikidze [1] . He started freestyle wrestling in 1995 under the leadership of Aslan Gabaraev . In 2005, he was a bronze medalist at the Russian Championship in Krasnodar . Since 2006, he played for the national team of Armenia in freestyle wrestling and in the same year became the third at the world championship in Guangzhou . In 2009, he won the silver medal of the European Championship in Vilnius . In 2010, at the international tournament “Takhti Cup” in Isfahan he became the second. In 2012, after Ruslan Basiev was unable to qualify for the London Olympics, the head coach of the Armenian team Araik Baghdadyan stated that Ruslan would no longer play for the country team [2] .
